The Fanfare of Prosperity - Brass Choir, Double Bass, Piano, and 5 Percussionists

$40.00

"The Fanfare of Prosperity" is a larger ensemble work composed for a full Brass Choir, Double Bass, Piano, and five Percussionists. My influences for this piece originated for my discovery of British Brass Bands in 2017. The driving energy and catchy melodies combined with the surprisingly simple harmonic context that most pieces for British Brass Band repertoire have proved to me as a composer that you don't always have to try and reinvent the wheel to create new and inspiring music. Since being introduced to the world of British Brass Band music, I have always been enthused by the idea of writing a larger ensemble piece that stays relatively simple in harmonic context and draws off the instrumentation of the standard British Brass Band. With the brass studio at Western Connecticut State University (my undergraduate institution of study) growing in both skill and size and the fact that Piccolo Trumpets and Flugelhorns could be utilized, I set out to compose a larger piece with the goal of imitating the amazing tone colors of the British Brass Bands. “The Fanfare of Prosperity” is not only an ode to the amazing potential of the brass studio at Western Connecticut State University, but proof that simple harmonic context and melodic ideas can be developed into something amazing.
