Nicholas is a composer who has experience teaching at varying high school marching band programs and has served as a band director at both the middle and high school levels. Besides teaching, Nicholas also has experience arranging and composing music for concert bands, wind ensembles, chamber ensembles, and marching bands. Additionally, he has assisted with marching band show design with a variety of high school programs (most recently serving as a music arranger for the Newtown High School Marching Band in Sandy Hook, CT and having a show of all original music commissioned by the Plainfield High School Marching Band in Plainfield, CT.

Nicholas has his B.S. in Music Education from Western Connecticut State University and his M.M. in Music Composition from the Hartt School at the University of Hartford. He is currently the band and choir director at Thompson Middle School in North Grosvenordale, CT, the brass caption head at the Connecticut Hurricanes Drum and Bugle Corps, teaches both music and visual with the Newtown High School Marching Band in Sandy Hook, CT, and teaches both music and visual with the Newtown High School Indoor Percussion Ensemble in Sandy Hook, CT.
